PHP-Nuke : Bleach Stream Abuse
PHP-Nuke Posted on Wednesday, June 04 @ 22:52:21 PDT by Brian

There are some of you out there who feel that if you click on the stream, and it says the stream is full, CLICK AGAIN! I mean, someone is bound to quit right?!

This is true, eventually most stream listeners will drop, after about 1 hour of viewing I imagine. This is one reason why I trimmed the stream playlist down. For those who remain endlessly connected, I ask that you stop. You can download the episodes from Dattebayo's site, and if you got banned because you abused his tracker well, I guess he has a good reason for it.

So, you get all high and mighty, discover I stream Bleach out of the goodness of my heart, and find the stream constantly packed (yes, it will be, its a very popular anime). Trying to repeatedly connect 2000 times before you get a slot is not the way to win my good graces.

Starting today, severe repeated attempts will be logged. Any logged fail attempts by a specific IP numbering 300 within 300 seconds will result in the parent class addressing space to be banned. This is how it works...

User in Nuernberg connects with 84.172.33.10. The Nuernberg block assigned to that ISP is 84.128.0.0/10. If I log 300 failure attempts in 5 minutes (i.e. 60 * 5 = 300) it will log the IP as an offender, and e-mail me at the end of the day. When I go and collect my abuse log, I'll see that 84.172.33.10 thinks they're more important than anyone else, and track down the whois information on that IP. I'll see that the parent block assignment to that ISP is 84.128.0.0/10, and go to my server's IPTables, and list that as a drop entry. This means that any site or stream that I host in the future will automatically be blocked from view by any user on that ISP. I've also been known to be as cruel to see the parent block 84.0.0.0/8 is assigned to RIPE, and block the whole Class-A of addresses, depends on how many near that country think they're cute trying to slam my stream with SYN packets all day cause they can't watch my stream.

If the stream is full, its FULL.  Get the clue.  If you want a slot, become a relay for me, you can reserve a slot on your own server.

Now here's a novel idea. If you want to be a relay, and help foster my love and spread the joy, then become a stream relay. Register for my site, send me a private message, and I'll hook you up with all the goodies to make it so. Remember though, I transfer roughly 1500gb/mo running an 8-10 person stream full time. This server runs at about 4mbps constantly, so if you're looking to host this on a 10mbps link, that'll do about 20 users max. If you want to be a relay, I can certainly add you to my allowed list and reserve a slot. Contact me.
